'America First Doesn't Mean America Alone': Pence Reassures NATO Allies US 'Stands With Freedom'

“We are committed to nations around the world that are committed to freedom,” Pence assured Fox News.
On Friday, United States senators voted overwhelmingly in favor of a bill enhancing sanctions against Russia, but Trump has yet to sign it into law, and speculation has been raised over if he'll actually veto the bill instead.
Fox News's Kristin Fisher asked if the vice president thought Trump would sign the bill while he was in Europe and whether the president's signature on the bill would be an added reassurance to European nations.
“The president has made it very clear that Russia's destabilizing activities and support for rogue regimes and its activities in Ukraine are unacceptable,” Pence told Fisher. “The president made it clear that very soon he will sign the sanctions from the Congress of the United States to reinforce that.”
While Pence seems confident Trump is on board with enhancing sanctions, he noted that the administration has hope for a peaceful coexistence.
“But at the same time, as we make our intentions clear that we expect Russian behavior to change, the president and I remain very hopeful that we'll see different behavior from the Russian government,” he added.
Pence's comments on Russia fell on the same day that Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed the country would be expelling 755 diplomats in retaliation for the enhanced sanctions.
